Announcing The Big Switch 2 Bootup, our ambitious project to record the complete history of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch as it happens!

It’s our mission at Dbljump to preserve verifiable game histories – and right now we have a rare chance to capture a new era as it begins.

This isn’t just about listing games. It’s about capturing the details that matter – frame rates, control options, images, global release dates and titles, and much more – with trusted sources that make our pages worth reading. We’re building a lasting resource for gamers, historians, and everyone excited for Nintendo’s next chapter.

Why a Switch 2 Bootup?

You’re hyped for Switch 2. I’m hyped for Switch 2.

(This is Neil by the way, founder and developer of Dbljump 👋🏻)

As this new generation of Nintendo gaming starts, our Dbljump platform is also ready to shine.

This is your chance to get in on the ground floor – to help boot up not just the Switch 2’s history, but the Dbljump community as well.

Lots of reasons to get involved

  • Be part of the best Switch 2 community. It’s for people who believe in doing things thoroughly and properly, for the benefit of everyone. An amazing team of passionate game historians, in it for the fun and the facts – that’s our dream!
  • Get into game history. You’ve been looking for a way to get involved in archiving game history? Dbljump was made for you. Please take a closer look at what’s on offer. I think you’ll be intrigued.
  • Sharpen your skills. Writing, research, collaboration. Dbljump is a fun way to develop talents you can use at school or work.
  • Build something important. The Internet has so much potential, but it’s also full of junk. Dbljump is about building a better video game resource. You can be an important part of it.
  • Earn rewards and recognition. All contributors will get an exclusive badge on our Discord server – and in time, on your Dbljump profile. You can also receive special recognition you could add to your CV/resume/LinkedIn page.
  • Directly influence the platform. Your feedback and input will help guide Dbljump’s evolution.

Choose your contributor class

You’re joining Team Switch 2, not Team Fortress 2, but you can still choose your own specialised way to contribute.

  • Metadata Maestro: You love all kinds of structured data, from release dates to graphical tech specs. Your detail-oriented work helps make Dbljump super searchable, and our game version records uniquely comparable.
  • Writer/Researcher: You enjoy diving deep into a topic and sharing what you’ve learned through writing. At Dbljump we need writing that is factual, neutral, and supported by high quality sources.
  • Visual Archivist: Gaming images are your thing. That could mean screenshots, box art, key art, or document scans. Dbljump archives only free–to–use images and fair–use marketing media. We include metadata to ensure sources are credited and images properly organised.
  • Credits Crawler: You like to make connections between Switch 2’s games and the people and companies who make them.

By the way, you don’t even have to choose one role – do whatever you enjoy!

Jumpstarting our community

The Switch 2 Bootup is part of our wider initiative to launch Dbljump as a game history resource, with projects focused on specific topics that game historians are passionate about. We’re calling this wider initiative DbljumpSTART, and we really need your help to make it a success. Here’s why.

I’ve spent a lot of time creating Dbljump. For literally years, I was laser–focused on the software side of building it. I have a vision for what Dbljump should be: a complete video game history resource built on verifiable information, owned by the people who create it, and free to use for all.

But by the time I’d built the platform to a level where people might enjoy it, I was a little burnt out. I make Dbljump in my spare time. I’m also a Dad who works full time. I’m extremely passionate about Dbljump, but I had to take a break from it, just as the community seemed ready to grow.

Now my focus is on building our community and team – so we can start achieving our vision, and everything isn’t totally reliant on me!

I’m really proud of Dbljump as a platform, and I hope you’ll enjoy using it as we build the world’s best Nintendo Switch 2 resource together.

The Dbljump community really needs you, and we massively appreciate every contribution you make.

Might be a few bumps in the road…

Speaking of the Dbljump platform: it works great, and it has a lot of cool features. But it’s also a work in progress, and I want to be honest about where we are today.

There will be bugs. And you may think to yourself at times, “this would be better if X feature was present”.

That’s ok! You can tell me about problems you find via Discord or BlueSky or Facebook, and I’ll try to help as quick as I can.

By joining our Switch2Bootup project, you’re getting in at the ground floor. And you can help shape the future of Dbljump with your own feature requests and feedback.

Imagine the possibilities – and join the team now!

What if we actually achieve this? What if we create an amazing, trusted resource that answers all the questions about launch-window Switch 2 games (and beyond)?

If that prospect excites you like it does me, then I invite you to join us now and start sharing knowledge about your most hype Switch 2 titles.

Brand new to Dbljump? Don’t worry, we’ll help you get started. No experience needed, just curiosity and a click below.
